SUMMARY:T-Rextasy [NYC] /Blacker Face [CHI] / Lesser Pleasures
DESCRIPTION:⚡🌙We are over the moon\, and can’t wait for this incredible show!⚡🌙\nT-Rextasy:\nRock N Lol\nMiscreant Records\nFather/Daughter Records\nRemember when you were 11 and you stayed up all night at a sleepover in an adrenaline frenzy\, AIM-ing all of your\ncrushes?\nThat’s the feeling New York City-based T-Rextasy inspires. Since playing their first show (not in a band member’s\nbedroom) at Brooklyn’s Silent Barn the night before senior prom\, the “hyper-verbal rock & roll goddesses” (Rolling\nStone) have acquired a dedicated following in the five boroughs and beyond. Their disciples range from queer middle\nschoolers who reveal the band is the reason they started to play music\, to not-quite-21-year-old-punks who hop fences\nto get into their bar gigs\, to nostalgic middle-aged dads.\nAn Olympic feat for born-and-raised city kids\, the members learned to drive\, bought a glamorous used minivan\, and\nhit the road to tour their debut record\, Jurassic Punk\, on Father/Daughter Records and Miscreant Records. In 2017\nalone\, they played exactly 100 sets across the U.S. and Canada\, refining their captivating live show and making stops\nat festivals like South by Southwest and Brooklyn’s Northside. Their live show is full of spectacular antics: neon\nensembles\, synchronized dancing\, and audience participation that’s part performance-art-carnival\, part rock gig.\nCommitted to intersectional feminism\, the group mobilizes their live act and social media platforms to raise\nawareness of issues\, donates merchandise proceeds to organizations\, and intentionally curates inclusive\, safe shows.\nThe self-proclaimed Dashing Dino Dames\, who “don’t sound anything like their peers\,” (Stereogum) are currently\ngearing up to release their sophomore album\, Prehysteria\, recorded in New Paltz\, NY at Salvation Recording Co.\n(Vagabon\, Diet Cig) in December 2017.\nhttps://t-rextasy.bandcamp.com/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/trextasyband/\nhttps://www.stereogum.com/2002380/t-rextasy-girl-friend-video/video/ \nBlacker Face:\nAfropunk\nCome catch this viscous visce-rage. We came to ghostride the hawelti of Aksum\, into a future that’s weird at last. HashtagAfrofuturistOccult.\nhttps://blackerface.bandcamp.com/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/faceoppressors/ \nLesser Pleasures:\nLesser Pleasures\, from Lawrence\, KS\, features members of Minus Story\, Longshadows\, Key Party\, Black Christmas\, and Hush Machine. Inspired by 80’s nostalgia\, social activism\, pretty + noisy music and LFK.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/Lesser-Pleasures-150982265700532/
