And there is something strangely meditative about the lyrical dream pop he creates with his evolving band in Brooklyn\, NY. With a tour in support of TEEN in the U.S. and Canada (2018)\, The New York Times calling them a “buzzy” band during Color Me Bushwick Festival (2018)\, and 40+ North American shows in 2017\, it’s no surprise they were added to Deli Magazine’s Best Emerging NYC Psych playlist. \nThe world is an increasingly complex place and HNRY FLWR has had a stand out year despite the project’s own complex nature. Their “brilliant” (GoldFlakePaint) debut EP\, FLOWERAMA\, was released in the summer of 2017 on Paper Garden Records and quickly went viral on Spotify with over 500\,000 streams. Darkwave locals\, Emmaline Twist & LFK darlings Toughies are providing local support!\nDentist\nIndie/Surf Rock/Alternative\nDentist comes from the oceanfront urban landscape of Asbury Park\, New Jersey. \nTheir sound combines the freedom of the beach atmosphere and the urgency of the city into a fuzzed out\, surf punk-tinged brand of indie pop with hooks and infectious melodies to spare. The ethereal vocals of Emily Bornemann are countered by the sometimes aggressive\, but always addictive sounds of Justin Bornemann on guitar and Matt Hockenjos on drums.\nDentist formed in 2013\, built around the songwriting partnership of Emily and Justin. The pair had been writing songs and performing together in various ways since their first meeting in 2008 at the legendary punk hangout\, TGI Friday’s. \nThe band released their self-titled debut album in 2014\, which Pandora described as “a deliriouslyinfectious collection of fuzzy\, California-styled\, indie pop jangle and sun dappled garage rock crunch.” Dentist released their sophomore album\, Ceilings in the summer of 2016 via Little Dickman Records to critical acclaim. Darkwave locals\, Emmaline Twist\, will be opening! \nDentist\nIndie/Surf Rock/Alternative\nDentist comes from the oceanfront urban landscape of Asbury Park\, New Jersey. \nTheir sound combines the freedom of the beach atmosphere and the urgency of the city into a fuzzed out\, surf punk-tinged brand of indie pop with hooks and infectious melodies to spare. The ethereal vocals of Emily Bornemann are countered by the sometimes aggressive\, but always addictive sounds of Justin Bornemann on guitar and Matt Hockenjos on drums. \nDentist formed in 2013\, built around the songwriting partnership of Emily and Justin. The pair had been writing songs and performing together in various ways since their first meeting in 2008 at the legendary punk hangout\, TGI Friday’s. \nThe band released their self-titled debut album in 2014\, which Pandora described as “a deliriouslyinfectious collection of fuzzy\, California-styled\, indie pop jangle and sun dappled garage rock crunch.” Dentist released their sophomore album\, Ceilings in the summer of 2016 via Little Dickman Records to critical acclaim. Showcasing their evolution\, the songs had a new sense of space and airiness. \nThe band began touring regularly and made trips to the American South\, the midwest\, up and down the the east coast\, and a month long tour through Canada. \nDentist’s notoriety has continued to grow along the way due to their hardwork and touring\, culminating this year at SXSW\, they were named breakout acts by both NPR and The Mercury News. \nDentist will be releasing their third album Night Swimming this year via Cleopatra Records. Their strongest release to date\, the new album showcases the bands ability to fit pop hooks into aggressive garage punk one moment\, then dreamy surf pop the next.
